Imagine. Create. Inspire. Repeat.
REGENERATION THEATRE believes that live theatre is personal and has the power to affect and move us. By developing and breathing dramatic life into engaging new works, or revitalizing lesser know works that explore day-to-day issues or life-changing events and the emotions and vulnerabilities it brings out of us, we gain perspective as to why we do the things we do to help us understand the choices we make in our own lives. Above all, REGENERATION THEATRE is committed to the development of new works to give aspiring playwrights and composers the platform to further develop their work in a nurturing, creative environment of peers and colleagues. We also have a passion for revitalizing lesser known and forgotten theatrical works that thematically support our mission of exploring the range of complex human emotions and understanding what inspires the actions allow us as artists to look back and revisit theatrical works that have influenced us. Some main stage productions will also be accompanied by segments in our NEXT UP Reading Series, a curated second stage programming of public staged readings, which also provide for artists within the company with opportunities for producing, directing or designing. Additional programming throughout the year will feature works-in-progress, staged readings of other forgotten theatrical works, and the presentation of company-created adaptations as inspired by classics. |
Barnaby Edwards |
Barnaby Edwards founded REGENERATION THEATRE as an avenue to bring new work and lesser known shows to the stage so that audiences can discover the thrill of discovery and re-discovery.
Most recently Barnaby produced the 2013-14 season for Beautiful Soup Theatre which featured the US premiere of the British musical Lift, the first New York Revival of Molnar's Liliom since the early 1970s, and the world premiere of Steven Carl McCasland's acclaimed play Little Wars. In London during the 1990s, Barnaby produced Paul Emelion Daly's first musical, Crimes of Passion, and designed some of his early plays - Behind Closed Doors and When Harry Met Barry. Barnaby has also occasionally performed, including playing Ben in a 2013 production of Rags, and in cabaret at the Duplex in 2014. |
